Description
The FINPYME Technical Assistance program provides IIC clients with consulting services in areas ranging from environmental regulation compliance and financial analysis to technical and market evaluations.
Eligibility Criteria
For a company to be eligible for technical assistance, it must be an existing or potential client of the IIC. Preferably, the company should be an SME (small and medium-sized enterprise), be willing to help cover the total cost of the technical assistance activity, and present a project that demonstrates that the technical assistance has value-added components.
Types of Technical Assistance
FINPYME Technical Assistance offers five different types of technical assistance:
Feasibility Studies: The program provides resources to perform feasibility studies to assess the technical, financial, and commercial viability of a project.
Strengthening a Client’s Supply Chain: The program helps IIC clients enhance and professionalize their supply chain arrangements.
Enhancing Competitiveness: The program supports IIC clients that are interested in obtaining international certifications and improving specific business areas in order to increase their competitiveness (for example, market identification, marketing strategies, and business plan development to target new markets). The program helps IIC clients by finding donor resources and identifying experts in such areas as engineering, strategy, and finance who are able to work with the companies to implement the changes needed.
Monitoring IIC Projects: Many IIC projects take time to develop and generally require the support of experts in the field to guide their implementation and monitoring. The program provides resources to pay for this third-party review and expertise to ensure that projects are executed on time and on budget.
Environmental and Social Reviews: The program offers technical assistance to enable companies to comply with the environmental, social, and legal due diligence necessary for loan approval.
