About FINPYME

SMEs require more than financing for sustainable growth. They also need technical assistance. Companies face many hurdles that hinder their ability to compete in open markets, including management, planning, and strategic challenges. Over the years, the IIC has identified several key areas in which SMEs are often in need of assistance. In response, the IIC put together a comprehensive package of value-added services for SMEs under the FINPYME® brand.

FINPYME consists of seven programs providing value-added services: FINPYME Diagnostics, FINPYME ExportPlus, FINPYME Family Business, FINPYME Integrity, GREENPYME, FINPYME Technical Assistance, and FINPYME Credit.

In 2010, IIC donors approved resources for 21 FINPYME activities totaling US$5.2 million. Donors including Austria, France, Italy, Norway, the Republic of Korea, Spain, Switzerland, the Nordic Development Fund, and the Walloon Region of Belgium helped finance IIC technical assistance activities in 17 Caribbean and Central and South American countries.
